Terms and Conditions

NOTE: These General Terms and Conditions shall apply to all projects undertaken by us. However, each project quotation or invoice may include its own specific terms and conditions. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between these General Terms and Conditions and the specific terms set out in the relevant quotation or invoice, the specific terms shall prevail, as they are tailored to that particular project.

1. Services

1.1 We provide electrical contracting services including installation, maintenance, inspection and testing, design, supply of materials, and emergency callouts.

1.2 All works will be carried out in accordance with current UK regulations, including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), and by qualified and competent personnel.

1.3 We are a registered member of NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) and where relevant we will issue certification for all works, sent upon payment of invoice.

1.4 Any additional works not specified in the original quotation requested before, during or after works will be subject to a separate quotation. No additional works will be undertaken without your written or verbal confirmation.

1.5 No allowance for decorating will be made by us, unless specified otherwise in the quotation.

1.6. Any non-standard or high-level ceilings requiring specialised access for electrical work may incur additional costs if not disclosed prior to work beginning.

2. Quotations and Estimates

2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

2.2 Quotations are based on the information provided to us at the time of issue. Any changes in scope may result in additional charges.

2.3 Estimates are approximate and not binding. A formal quotation will be provided where applicable.

3. Invoices and Payment

3.1 Invoices are issued upon completion of works, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3.2 Payment is due on receipt of invoice, unless alternative terms are agreed.

3.3 We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Percentage interest confirmed on invoice T&Cs.

4. Cancellation and Cooling-Off Period

4.1 You may cancel or postpone works by giving at least 72 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less notice may be subject to a charge.

4.2 For solar installations, you are entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract agreement (quotation accepted). During this time, you may cancel the contract without penalty. If you request works to begin within the cooling-off period, you may be liable for costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.

4.3 We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to supply chain issues, access restrictions, external contractor delay or extreme weather.

5. Materials and Parts

5.1 All materials and parts supplied remain our property until full payment has been received.

5.2 We provide a standard 1-year guarantee on any parts we supply and install. If they fail due to faulty goods (excluding user damage or error), we will rectify or replace them free of charge within this timeframe. After 1 year from the invoice date, the manufacturer’s warranty may still apply to the part, but labour will be subject to additional costs and agreed in advance.

6. Guarantees and Warranties

6.1 All products and materials supplied by us are covered by a 1 year product warranty. Within this period, any faulty products will be replaced at no cost. After the first year, replacements and associated callouts will be chargeable at our standard rates, although manufacturers warranties may still be valid.

6.2 Products or materials that are specifically requested or supplied by the client (e.g. certain EV chargers, light fittings, or other specified equipment) are not covered by our product warranty. Any replacement or associated callouts for such items will be fully chargeable, regardless of when the fault occurs.

6.3 Manufacturer guarantees on parts and equipment apply in addition to our guarantees where applicable, but our labour will not be included after 1 year as stated above.

6.4 Our guarantees do not cover faults arising from:

  • Misuse, neglect, or deliberate damage

  • Interference or modification by persons other than our engineers

  • Normal wear and tear

6.5 Any faults, repairs, or callouts required outside of the guarantee period listed above will be chargeable at our standard rates.

7. Liability

7.1 We hold appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

7.2 Our liability for any loss or damage is limited to the value of the works carried out, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

7.3 We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses.

8. Access and Responsibilities

8.1 You agree to provide us with safe, uninterrupted access to the site for carrying out the works.

8.2 You are responsible for securing any necessary consents, permissions, or approvals required before works commence.

8.3 We will provide you with a timeslot for our arrival to carry out the works. While we make every effort to attend at the agreed time, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally cause delays. If this occurs, we will notify you of any change to the scheduled time as soon as we are aware that the time slot will not be met.

9. Governing Law

9.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

9.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
